Puppy Kindergarten
First class for dogs under 6 months
For puppies up to 5 1/2 months or younger on the first day of class.
In this class you and your pup will learn how to work together as a team, establishing a foundation for a lifetime of success. You will get all of your puppy-related questions answered in a supportive group environment. Specifically, the things we cover are:
- Establishing good habits from the start; such as not jumping on people, house training, appropriate chewing and bringing things to you and giving them up, instead of stealing and running away.
- Walking nicely on a leash
- Responding to their name
- Leave-it
- Sit/down/stand/stay and release
- Grooming/nail trimming
Puppies will also participate in supervised social time, some of it will be on-leash and when the puppies are ready, if they are compatible, there will be off-leash play time, also. In the process, you will learn how to monitor healthy play interactions.
